Hamilton is 295 kilometers west of Melbourne and is an easy 3.5-hour drive. Some of the major road networks servicing Hamilton include;
B140 - Hamilton Highway (Provides connections to Mortlake & Geelong)
B160 – Glenelg Highway (Provides connections to Ballarat, Mt Gambier and Casterton)
A200 – Henty Highway (Provides connections to Portland and Horsham)
C184 – Hamilton Port Fairy Road (Provides connections to Port Fairy & Macarthur)

Public Transport

V-line buses run from the Southern Cross Train Station in Melbourne to Hamilton. The Hamilton V-line coach stop is located at the Hamilton Railway Station.

Note – There is no passenger train service direct to Hamilton.

Taxis operate a regular service throughout Greater Hamilton. Taxis can be booked by calling (03) 5571 1200.

Town Bus Service
The Hamilton town bus service operates 6 days per week Monday to Saturday, except on Public Holidays.
Tickets are purchased from the driver on the bus, on the day. This service runs every one and a half hours at each stop.

Guided tours of the permanent collection and current exhibitions for both small and large groups are available by appointment.

Enhance your group’s visit with a one-hour private tour, led by a knowledgeable guide who can provide an insider’s view of the Gallery. Tours may be customised to focus on a specific exhibition or highlight of the collection. Groups pay a flat-rate tour fee. There is wheelchair access and lift to first floor.
