British Modern
Date
4 February - 3 May 2015
The Gallery holds an extensive collection of prints from the late 1600s onwards but perhaps one of the most unique groups is the collection of prints by British Modernists.
These came into the collection as gifts from Rod Fyffe and Minya Lipkes and purchases by the Gallery's first Director John Ashworth.
Today the group contains works by a number of artists of international repute such a Francis Bacon, David Hockney and John Piper that are exhibited in this exhibition.
