Following the grim war years and a period of functionalist austerity, decorative patterns and bold colours became popular. Commercial manufacturers from across continental Europe and Britain embraced new changes in society. This exhibition follows their pursuit of commercially competitive ceramics and metalwork through the application of modern design.
