This is HG:60, Celebrating 60 Years of the Hamilton Gallery.

HG:60

HG:60 commemorates the diamond anniversary of the Hamilton Gallery, which opened in 1961.

Discover some of the most significant objects from the gallery’s 9,000+ collection, specially curated into one free exhibition that unveils our unique strengths and most acclaimed artists.

Nine scholars, curators and academics from across Australia have examined and researched four key collection areas of the Hamilton Gallery; European Art, Decorative Arts, Australian Art and Asian Art.

As varied as it is impressive, HG:60 includes paintings, sculptural works, ceramics, glass, works on paper and other treasures that span centuries and continents.

Alongside this exhibition, the Gallery has undertaken the ambitious task of creating a collection publication; a remarkable coffee table book highlighting the exhibition curators’ favourite collection pieces.

Pick up a copy of the publication when visiting the exhibition, attending our celebratory events, or order online here.

Exhibition entry is free, with the Gallery open 7 days.
