Hamilton Gallery has been the heart of visual arts in the Southern Grampians for over 60 years.
Our internationally significant collection was seeded by a generous bequest of 981 objects, now numbering over 9000 with unique strengths in Decorative Arts, European, Australian and Asian Art.
Free to visit and open 7 days, visitors can discover touring exhibitions, curated highlights from the permanent collection and engaging public programs and events.
Alongside regular opportunities for all ages to create and learn, the HG gallery shop also stocks unique products by local and national artisans.
Hamilton Gallery is at 107 Brown Street, Hamilton. Public parking is available surrounding the gallery, accessible via Brown or Lonsdale Street.
Hamilton Gallery’s upper level is accessible via the service lift located opposite the staircase.
Public bathrooms are located on the upper level of Hamilton Gallery, accessible via the service lift or stairs. The closest parent’s changing and disability access toilets are located at the Hamilton Performing Arts Centre two doors down towards Lonsdale Street.
Alongside our 60th Anniversary exhibition, we created a remarkable collection publication. Nine scholars, curators and academics from across Australia examined and researched four key collection areas; European Art, Decorative Arts, Australian Art and Asian Art, and shared their insights in this coffee table book.
